It is one of my favourite things to do - and eat! Simple simple freshly pressed olive oil, ciabatta rubbed with fresh garlic, a bit of maldon salt and that results in shear heaven in my palate! The wine.co.za team were treated to a tasting of the 2015 freshly pressed olive oil at Morgenster. Giulio Bertrand bought Morgenster in 1992 and he not just developed a successful wine business, but partnered with experts in the various fields and developed a top end olive tree nursery, thus contributing to the quality of olives and oil in South Africa. Morgenster has won the best olive oil in the world a few times and in 2012 Giulio was honoured by the SA Olive Association with a Life Time Achiever trophy for his contribution to the local olive oil industry.
