FS - 17 / FAVOLOSA
The new olive variety cv. FS - 17 / Favolosa (patent and trademark IRO-CNR-Italy) was obtained by mass-selection within a population of seedlings originated by free pollination of cv. "Frantoio". It offers many precious biological and agronomic characteristics: low vigour, self-fertile, high rooting attitude, early production, high productivity, high oil yield, early ripening, medium resistance to low temperatures and tolerance towards the most common plant diseases. It is a variety for oil production.

The plants show an excellent growth in nursery and in open field conditions, having the particular quality to produce only fruiting branches starting from the second year, because of a productive attitude in the new shoots.

The cv. FS-17 is at the moment available in the markets of Italy, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, Chile, South Africa and France.

DON CARLO
The new olive variety Don Carlo (patent trademark IRO-CNR-Italy) was obtained by mass-selection within a population of seedlings originated by self-pollination of cv. "Frantoio". It offers many precious biological and agronomic characteristics: medium vigour, self-fertile, high rooting attitude, early production, high productivity, high oil yield, late ripening, good resistance to low temperatures and tolerance towards the most common plant diseases.

Considering the high flesh-to-pit ratio, the size and organoleptic quality of the fruit, "Don Carlo" may be considered a cultivar with a dual purpose.

The plants show an excellent growth in nursery and in open field conditions, having the particular quality to produce few sterile branches starting from the third year because of a productive attitude in the new shoots.

The cv. Don Carlo is at the moment available in the markets of Italy, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, Chile and South Africa.

CV. I-77
The clone I-77 was chosen inside of olive germoplasm collection of IRO-CNR in 1977; until now the origin of this variety is unknown. It offers some precious biological and agronomic characteristics: Medium vigour, partially self-fertile, high rooting attitude, early production, high productivity, medium oil yield, medium ripening, quite resistant to low temperatures. Although the fruit is of medium size, it is a variety for oil production because of the low flesh-t-pit ratio

The plants show a good growth in nursery and in open field conditions, having the particular quality to produce only fruiting branches starting from the third year, because of a productive attitude in the new shoots. The clone I-77 is, at the moment, available in many olive growing countries in the world.
