Morgenster Reserve
Morgenster Reserve 2012
Colour: Dence, rich plumb, ruby red.
Nose: Terrific intensity! Gorgeous perfume, enticing with each whiff. Plum, red and black berry richness, almonds and coffee with toffee and classical pencil shavings, cigar box and cassis.
Palate: Mouth filling elegance has sweeter, dark berry fruit engulfed in mouth caressing tannins. Fine balance of acidity over minerality contributes to harnessing the fruit’s youthfulness.

Morgenster Reserve 2011
Colour: Bright deep plum red. Vibrant, youthful appearance.
Nose: Striking, unabashed opulence greets you with gusto. Red and black Merlot fruit abound, offset with the most fragrant spice of the Petit Verdot and enhanced with blueberry, blackberry and cassis of the Cabernet Sauvignon.
Palate: Fantastically soft silky tannins fill the mouth and an overwhelming sweetness and fullness. Classical flavours show pencil shavings, fresh paprika and prominent concentrations of sweet cherry and blackcurrant.

Morgenster Reserve 2010
Colour: Bright, deep plum red. Vibrant, youthful appearance.
Nose: An explosion of fruit and perfume. There are blackcurrants and raspberry notes intermingled with rose petal and jasmine flavours. Underlying layers of cherry and violet are strengthened by more classical licorice, thyme, forest floor aromas.
Palate: Offerings of great opulence, balanced perfectly with a natural acidity that is the backbone to this age worthy wine. Once in the mouth, classical aromas spread, showing pencil shavings and earthy undertones with a more prominent concentration of sweet cherry and blackcurrant. Vanilla, mocha and some oak hover in the background.

Alc: 14.6  RS: 2.70  pH: 3.47  TA: 6.8  VA:  SO2:  FSO2:
Morgenster Reserve 2009
Colour: Opaque centre with vibrant darker red edges.
Nose: More austere upfront. Cabernet Sauvignon leads the first impressions, as lead pencil, cigar box and cassis sweetness start to become distinct.
Palate: Elegant and mouth filling at the same time. Sweeter dark berry fruit is very evident and contributes well to balancing the minerality which adds a lot of weight. Velvety tannins have a firmness and focus to the end. Beautiful balance and great finesse to round off a stunner of a vintage

Alc: 14.15  RS: 1.4  pH: 3.66  TA: 6.3  VA:  SO2:  FSO2:
Morgenster Reserve 2008
Colour: Dark plum, concentrated centre and opaque to the edges.
Nose: Enticing with almonds, coffee and sweet caramel, and alluring sniffs of cassis and vanilla pods. Great freshness with hits of blackberry sweetness.
Palate: Elegant entry, very plush and immediately filling. Sweeter dark berry fruit very evident, which contributes well to balancing the minerality which adds a lot of weight.

Morgenster Reserve 2005 -  SOLD OUT
Colour: Deep, concentrated burgundy red; reminiscent of heavy velvet drapes.
Nose: The first impression is clearly a lovely, rich dark chocolate with attractive spicy support. There are nuances of black cherries, black berries and ripe plums.
Palate: Slightly candy-coated tannins that create the impression of the interaction between fruit, acid and tannin. The black cherries on the nose come through to the palate as cherry kernels; marzipan and stone fruit. The finish is impressively long.

Alc: 14.5  RS: 2.5  pH: 3.6  TA: 5.65  VA:  SO2:  FSO2:
Morgenster Reserve 2004 -  SOLD OUT
Colour: Dense purple with great depth and concentration.
Nose: Terrific intensity and purity highlight a gorgeous perfume of sweet black cherries, roast herbs, meat juices, kirsch, blackberries, spice ... as the wine evolves the aromas come in waves.
Palate: If pressed for a one word descriptor, opulent would be the word for the 2004 Flagship of the Morgenster Estate. It's full bodied with more structure, tannin and delineation than the top vintages 2003 and 2001.

Alc: 14.5  RS: 2.6  pH: 3.68  TA: 5.8  VA:  SO2:  FSO2:
Morgenster Reserve 2003
Colour: Saturated ruby red.
Nose: Sexy aromas of dark berries, cassis and kirsch, hints of chocolate and mocha.
Palate: The palate impression offers ripe fruit, bedded in finely knitted ripe tannins. All these combine to assail the palate with a level of density, structure and viscosity to offer an outstanding mouth-feel. A liquid velvet texture is transformed by a rocky, minerally element. A complete wine with a classic elegance and excellent finish.

Alc: 13.5  RS: <2.5  pH: 3.65  TA: 5.9  VA:  SO2:  FSO2:
Morgenster Reserve 2001
Colour: Dense, rich, plum red.
Nose: On the intro, the presence of blackberries, pepper and spice show the slight dominance of the Cabernets.
Palate: The dense, complex mouth feel identifies elegant balance between the classic oak tannins and equality between fresh ripe berry flavours and ripe integrated varietal tannins.
