Colour: Deep, concentrated burgundy red; reminiscent of heavy velvet drapes.
Nose: The first impression is clearly a lovely, rich dark chocolate with attractive spicy support. There are nuances of black cherries, black berries and ripe plums.
Palate: Slightly candy-coated tannins that create the impression of the interaction between fruit, acid and tannin. The black cherries on the nose come through to the palate as cherry kernels; marzipan and stone fruit. The finish is impressively long.

Colour: Dense purple with great depth and concentration. 
Nose: Terrific intensity and purity highlight a gorgeous perfume of sweet black cherries, roast herbs, meat juices, kirsch, blackberries, spice ... as the wine evolves the aromas come in waves. 
Palate: If pressed for a one word descriptor, opulent would be the word for the 2004 Flagship of the Morgenster Estate. It's full bodied with more structure, tannin and delineation than the top vintages 2003 and 2001.

Nose: Sweet whiffs of blackberry are at the fore, with ripe bramble and fresh plum. Also very prominent and intriguing are Cabernet Franc’s cinnamon and nutmeg influences. There are some classical herbaceous notes found in lavender and thyme, ending with yummy coffee and toffee.
Palate: Elegant entry, very plush and immediately filling and rewarding. All the enticing sweetness evident on the nose returns to the fore. Acidity, savoury and sweetness blend harmoniously and the rounded silky tannins are already soft and velvety.

Colour: Opaque centre with lighter brick red edges, young and vibrant red.
Nose: Very fresh and vibrant flavor profile. Blackcurrant and cherry sweetness, with spicy clove, chive, anis and butter developments. Well integrated vanilla, cacao and caramel smoothes over into the palate.
Palate: Velvet entry, very plush and immediately filling. Sweeter dark berry fruits are very evident and contribute well to balance. Spicy sweet Cabernet Franc does well to pull the blend back into the classical category. Rounded silky tannins are already soft and velvety. Beautiful balance and great finesse round off a stunner of a vintage.Keeping with the philosophy behind Lourens River Valley Kotzé focused on letting the fruit do the talking, making the wine a true reflection of the terroir and what can be achieved with it in any given vintage. It was a smaller than usual crop but excellent quality prevailed. For Morgenster, the 2010 vintage can be tipped as a winner.

Nose: As with any Sangiovese the flavours are packed with fruit - red and black cherry and pomegranate, with interesting spice and some mocha or coffee notes, with subtle hints of rooibos tea and candy floss.
Palate: Balance is the name of this Italian masterpiece and Caruso does its namesake proud. Rich and elegant, it has a soft, velvety feel but with enough focus and length. There is a wonderful freshness of berries and cranberry type tanginess which leave you anticipating the next luscious sip.

Nose: Fruit aplenty with biscuit and yeast coming to the fore. Beautiful minerality and river stone neutrality
Palate: Soft lingering mousse with a very fine persistent bubble. There is great expression of Cabernet Franc fruit in a sweeter style even though no dosage was added. Fullness and an impressive length of stay on the palate with good wood integration.

Nose: Merlot needs no introduction: red, black and bramble berries, plums and dates, cinnamon spice and star anise
Palate: Sumptuously smooth with some fine tannins to broaden palate weight, giving an extra dimension to the abundance of fruit introduced by the nose
